Job Duties: 

  • Architect will provide services during the construction phase of Owner facilities major projects located throughout the State of Michigan. 
  • The major construction projects include but are not limited to the following:
    • Tawas Service Center.
    • Standish Service Center.
    • Wixom EIRP Site.
    • Parnall 1-2 Renovation.
    • Grand Rapids Circuit 501 Project.
    • Kalamazoo Service Center.
    • Wind Farm Maintenance Building(s).
  • Construction of the referenced Owner facilities major projects include all structures and improvements in accordance with approved drawings and specifications, required site work, paving, concrete, masonry, structural steel, carpentry, millwork, insulation, roofing, glazing, doors, hardware, finishes, mechanical and electrical work. 
  • Contract price includes all construction administration costs associated with the following items of work.


  • Managing the submittal review process including maintaining submittal logs for shop drawings, Architectural Request for Information (RFI), Project Change Orders, Product Sample, etc. and recording all submittals received from the Owner's contractors.
  • Processing and review of shop drawings and product data.
  • Responding to architectural Requests For Information (RFIs).
  • Conducting site visits to the various project sites to confirm that the construction, fabrications and assemblies are as per the shop drawings, design intent and the Owner's project requirements.
  • Other duties/tasks related to construction administration of the major projects.
  • Architectural services related to major construction projects, as directed by the Owner.
  • Owner shall provide Consultant's onsite office.

Required Skills:    

The following knowledge, skills, and abilities (competencies) are a requirement and necessary to perform the job competently

  • Over 3 years' experience in facilities design and construction administration.
  • Understanding of building codes, specifications, and other project documentation.
  • Project management.
  • Effective Communications.
  • Flexibility and ability to respond quickly.
  • Able to multitask and work in a team.
  • Able to work independently and with minimal instruction.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office, AutoCAD, Revit, PowerPoint.
  • All work shall be performed in a workman like manner and in accordance with all local, state, and federal codes.

Education Required:    

  • LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP BD+C).
  • A Bachelor's degree in Architecture.

Education Preferred: 

  • Licensed Architect desirable but not required.

Additional Information: 

  • This position could vary from part-time to full-time depending on the number of ongoing projects.
