Purpose & Scope: The Network Operations Coordinator role will provide both technical and operational support for the company’s IS Infrastructure in managing routine processes, meetings and tasks, as well as provide oversight for the technical operations of the IT Outsource provider.

IT Infrastructure network processes and outsourced vendors 

Company Environment 

  • LAN – Cisco 3560, 37xx, and 6500 switches, F5 Load Balancers. 
  • LAN Wireless – Cisco 5500 controller and 3500 WAPS 
  • WAN – Cisco Routers (Verizon) and Riverbed WAN accelerators 
  • Security – Cisco ASA firewalls, IDS/IPS, and 3030 Concentrators for VPN 
  • Telephony – Cisco Call manager, Unit, call center and e911 

Responsibilities / Activities 

  • Network Access 
  • Conduct weekly operational meeting with Vendors and update meeting logs (IBM, Verizon, AT&T) 
  • Follow up any outstanding tasks 
  • Follow up to ensure escalated issues are resolved. 
  • Have technical expertise to assist and provide technical direction as needed in the LAN and WAN area. Role will not have ‘hands on keyboard’ tasks but need to provide technical oversight of outsource vendor support staff. 
  • Review network documentation to insure accuracy. Network Diagrams and procedures. 
  • Handle user request and issues as escalated. 
  • Push projects and provide detail information, and perform user testing as needed for active projects. 

Position Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience preferred 
  • Network Certifications a plus 
  • 3+ years of Network and Telcom Management experience and skills a requirement. 
  • Proven experience in network and telephony configuration and deployments. 
  • Must exhibit characteristics of a team player who can work independently as well as within a group setting and can interface across multiple departments and levels of management. 
  • Demonstrated skill proficiency in Microsoft Office. Advanced proficiency in a variety of software and PC functions and a high level of confidence in learning a variety of software for databases, spreadsheets. 
  • Strong Project Management methodology experiences within the Pharma industry a plus. Experience with IBM and Accenture Global Programs a plus. 
  • Excellent organizational skills, effective project management skills and commitment to meeting deadlines and work well under pressure.
