Job description
We are searching for a high energy Service Delivery Manager (SDM) - Cloud Operations to help lead us on our journey to the cloud. Day to day, this person will be responsible for managing a portfolio of cloud projects / programs. Additional responsibilities include coordination and teamwork with our Architects and Engineers, as well as managing the relationship with our 3rd party cloud support partner.

While the SDM will be ultimately responsible for the coordination, execution, and performance of the internal technical staff to serve internal business units, the role entails so much more. A truly successful SDM will have the agility to balance the technical and people aspects of all stakeholders, the ability to read the room, and the social-emotional skills to help guide the organization for what’s best of for all parties; to lead us through the operational journey to the cloud.   • Three to five (3-5) years of professional experience managing service delivery organization.
  • Three to five (3-5) years of professional experience with Infrastructure technologies, i.e., compute, virtualization, networking, storage and/or cyber-security.
  • Two to three (2-3) years of professional experience supporting public cloud in a support operations capacity.
  • Experience with cloud computing (AWS and/or Azure) Preferred Qualifications Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success as a team leader, including:
    • Ability to engage with business and IT executives to define, understand and document IT needs and desired IT capabilities; iterate new IT capabilities into future-state technology platforms that support business strategies.
    • Working with application owners to provide visibility and guidance around their cloud services account through regular Operational Service Reviews and Reporting.
    • Providing platform support to Application Teams releases as needed.
    • Working with the application owners to address operational and tactical issues.
    • Providing detailed reviews of service disruptions, metrics, detailed pre-launch planning.
  • Being the “voice of the customer” and work with internal cloud resources to ensure that the application owner’s SLAs are met.
  • Managing IT service delivery teams to understand business strategies, envision and prioritize IT delivery capabilities.
  • Building relationships with teams; developing an awareness of IT services; communicating with the teams in an organized and knowledgeable manner; delivering clear requests for information; demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks; and communicating and managing potential conflicts.
  • Ability to work with a range of technically and culturally diverse people, influencing them to achieve goals, and delivering value-added business results that meet high-quality requirements within tight deadlines.
  • Creating and delivering technical presentations to both technical and non-technical participants.
  • Possessing a working knowledge of project management process, the budgetary process, resource management, and the ability to apply said principles to operations.
  • Understanding of Service Management Standards (ITIL, CMMI-SVC, etc.).
  • Understanding of the technology, trends, and techniques in the IT industry.
  • IAC and Azure DevOps experience.
  • Basic experience working with any of Active Directory and/or ADFS, Group Policy, DNS, any major RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL), Trend Micro DSM or other major antivirus or host IDS/IPS software.
  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts, SMTP, HTTP protocols.
  • Basic experience working with infrastructure automation capabilities.
    • (e.g.: Terraform, Puppet, Ansible) and scripting languages (e.g.: PowerShell, Bash, Python).
  • Working knowledge of IT standards (ISO 9001; 20000-1; 27000, etc.).
  • Experience leading 3rd party managed services support partners.
  • Ability to work with other support teams within the company ecosystem.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field
