Solutions Architect Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads the solution architecture and design of medium to large sized projects and programs, from ideation through implementation.
  • Responsible for the design and implementation of robust, secure, scalable financial solution architecture across n-tier platforms.
  • Establishes the product direction and is responsible for evaluating and incorporating emerging standards and new technologies.
  • Steers architecture strategy as technology evolves
  • Works across IT teams, Accounting, and our Finance and Cash departments to ensure the environment is fully utilizing available technology to enhance productivity and improve work processes.
  • Identifies and research changes in financial/payment standards and emerging technologies.
  • Provides cross training and/or knowledge transfer to colleagues as necessary.
  • Able to work across multiple lines of business and technology stacks to create:
    • a connected member experience
    • cross-sell and up-sell scenarios
    • self service capabilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with financial systems (preferably payment and retail banking systems)
  • Proven experience and knowledge of government, regulatory and compliance standards (e.g. SWIFT CSP, PCI, AIBE, KYC, BSA, AML).
  • Deeper experience with digital retail banking technologies, open architecture integrations and portal platforms is desired.
  • Understanding of open architecture integrations across multiple third’ party solution providers (SSO, Single view of the customer, CRM screen population, pre-filled fields, etc.)
  • Has proven large program problem solving skills

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Mathematics, or Engineering or in the alternative, a combination of education, certifications and work experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Mathematics, or Engineering.


  • 10+ years of experience as an Architect with specialization in at least one technology domain (e.g. cloud computing, data management, integration, security, infrastructure, or application development)
  • 5+ years of experience working in or related to financial/payment industry
  • 2+ years of experience supporting software development projects utilizing cloud technologies. 
  • Past roles may include systems architect, software developer, and/or systems engineer.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of PCI standards and their application
  • Proven ability to understand business objectives and translate into conceptual architecture
  • Ability to analyze business operations and processes to understand their relationships, and drive business process optimization
  • Has a working knowledge of FFIEC, OCC and OTS technical guidelines and policies
  • Has the ability to interpret complex technical scenarios and explain to business partner in easy to understand nomenclature
  • Able to assess current state architecture stack and drive efficiencies through elimination reduction of the number of solutions required to support the financial ecosystem.
  • Skilled at assessing new market entrants (Fin-techs) to determine viability and fit to our solution stack.
  • Has a deep understanding of infrastructure/connectivity and flow across internal and external networks, and is able to partner with the infrastructure teams to implement solutions
