Role Description:

The Sr IT Program Manager is a seasoned resource leading program(s) that include project spend in the range of $5-$10M, and is accountable for project delivery across that entire IT program. He/She leads a matrix team of project work stream leads, technical leads, architects, functional leads and delivery partners within a program or programs, and is responsible for the program health and success.


• Lead complex projects and/or programs with executive visibility and tight timelines
• Manage the timelines, budgets and resource scheduling needed to deliver new or enhanced systems and capabilities
• Manage and ensure predictable delivery of projects and/or programs – driving accountability of work stream owners and enabling escalation of risks and issues that require assistance or attention
• Ensure timely and accurate completion and maintenance of SDLC deliverables throughout the project/program lifecycle, and adherence to PMO standards
• Ensure projects are delivered at a high level of quality according to committed scope, approved budget and targeted dates
• Lead various program governance meetings including routine core team / program office meetings as well as escalation, steering and sponsor reviews
• Demonstrate thought leadership with business partners to ensure delivery of the most effective solutions for the identified business objectives
• Ensure all aspects of the program’s success are contemplated and addressed
• Enable and enhance cross functional interactions between Solution Delivery, Project teams, IT functional leadership areas, and multiple business units (i.e. – Commercial, Medical, R&D organizations).


• 10+ years’ experience working as an IT professional managing projects, programs and/or portfolios in the Pharma-Biotech industry
• 5 years’ experience implementing complex, cross-functional projects solutions within established software development life cycle methodologies
• Commercial product launch experience
• Demonstrated ability to work and influence at multiple levels within multidisciplinary and matrixed organization
• Technical proficiency and strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
• PMI PMP Certification

Minimum Education Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, advanced degree in business or information technology desirable or a combination of degree and related experience that exceeds the minimum qualifications.

Program Description

New product launch

The client requires a Sr. IT Program Manager in their Weston location through July 2020 and possibly beyond to oversee a portfolio of Commercial and Medical projects.  In addition to typical PM activities, the IT Program Manager will be responsible for:

• Executing on the go-to-market launch strategy, with a laser focus on the critical path
• Creating a long-term IT roadmap for product launch in partnership with the IT leadership team and other stakeholders
• Managing complex interdependencies and risks
• Cross-functional governance and communication
• Assisting with business case development and cost/benefit analyses
The ideal candidate will have experience in managing large, complex initiatives that involve a variety of technologies, software integration, external partners, and business transformation. Commercial product launch experience in Biotech/Pharma is desired. This person must have excellent communication skills and be able to manage stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership. He/she will need to be comfortable navigating ambiguity and be equipped to solution through alternative approaches, if needed, in order to meet business objectives.
