Data Governance Analyst. We have a contract opportunity available in Columbus, Ohio for a Data Governance Analyst who will be responsible for providing technical support to Data Stewards who are responsible for data quality improvement. He or she will support data management initiatives including data migration, data conversion, data privacy and business analytics projects. The position also assists with implementation of Data Governance policies and provides technical support for activities such as data profiling, root cause analysis, and remediation planning. 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and/or support data profiling and data analysis activities
  • Conduct and/or support triage, root cause analysis and remediation planning for data quality issues
  • Execute Data Governance processes and ensure that Data Governance policies are implemented
  • Publish and maintain Data Governance project documentation

Technical Skills and Experience:

  • Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology
  • Related Work Experience: 2-5 years
  • ?At least three years of experience in a relevant technical role, such as data analyst, data quality control analyst, or database developer
  • Data profiling experience and strong SQL skills are required
  • Proficiency using regular expressions to identify patterns and/or anomalies in text is required
  • Experience using Informatica Data Quality and/or Informatica PowerCenter to enable data governance and data quality processes is required
  • Experience using visual analytics software to analyze data-related issues and communicate findings to stakeholders (e.g., Tableau) is required
  • Experience performing data-related issue analysis and developing solutions to resolve data quality issues
  • Must have a working knowledge of relational database systems, data architecture and data modeling

Leadership Skills and Experience:

  • Must demonstrate an ability to partner well with others in a collaborative, matrixed team environment 
  • Must be passionate about delivering an exceptional customer experience and demonstrate an ability to solve business and technical challenges with the customer in mind
  • Strong speaking and presentation skills are required to communicate ideas and proposals to technical and non-technical audiences (e.g., formal presentations, white boarding, group presentations)

Desired Skills Experience:

  • Experience applying natural language processing (NLP) is desirable (e.g., sentiment analysis)
  • A working knowledge of quality methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma and Total Quality Management is desirable
  • Experience with process design, measurement and continuous improvement is desirable
