Digital Product Owner. We have a contract need in Columbus, Ohio for a Digital Product Owner who will be responsible for ensuring that the team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to work on. He or she will plan and prioritize product feature backlog and define product vision, road-map and growth opportunities.

Essential Functions:

  • Assess value, develop case, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
  • Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the users’ stories
  • Works closely with product management / business to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value, KPI or ROIs
  • Leads the planning product release plans and set expectation for delivery of the new functionalities
  • Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of release/ sprint goals
  • Research and analyze market, the users, and the roadmap for the product
  • Follows market and industry competitors
  • Keep abreast with Agile / Scrum best practices and new practices and new trends

Must Have:

  • Previous working experience as a product owner
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles
  • Has led a Scrum team as the Product Owner
  • Has provided vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project and creates requirements
  • Has experience writing problem statements
  • Has experience writing assumptions
  • Has experience writing hypothesis
  • Is able to write acceptance criteria
  • Has experience creating measurable goals for the users’ stories
  • Has experience in validated learning activities
  • Led, facilitated or partnered with others to complete usability, focus groups or other customer feedback activities
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills
  • Leads demos for the customer, stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Creative thinker with a vision
  • Able to say 'no' to customers, stakeholders and leadership

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to help settle conflict to prioritize work most effectively for the business and the team
  • Empowered decision maker

Nice to Have:

  • Has been the Product Owner of multiple Scrum teams
  • Supported multiple business lines for a single product team
  • Has experience with A/B testing of user stories
  • Has experience working with UX/UI team members
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience with Google suite of productivity tools
