Digital Program Manager

Role Description

The Digital Program Manager is responsible for delivering, without the need for significant direction, high profile innovation-focused digital programs from inception to conclusion. 
Digital programs begin as ideas that are determined strategically important by the company business unit stakeholders and are progressed through an innovation process, which includes concept/idea development, proof of concept, minimum viable product development through demonstration, and product scaling across multiple company product areas. This position will have high visibility responsibility and will require engagement with the company’s business unit leadership, external partners and consultant groups, and technical execution teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned projects through the company’s digital innovation lifecycle process, with the priority of confirming feasibility through Proof of Concept or Minimum Viable Product as quickly and robustly as possible. 
  • Manage a dynamic and wide range of project types across all company divisions, ranging in duration from 3 weeks to 6+months
  • Drive achievement oriented results through accurate time planning, risk & issue management practices, and change control. 
  • Oversee all involved functional areas during project development to ensure project timing and value objectives are met.
  • Maintain effective management of project status & roadblocks, and communicate effectively to key business unit stakeholders and involved internal & external partners. Elevate and focus management attention where there are roadblocks or risk to timely resolution of issues.
  • Create different project metrics and goals to manage each project team towards, based on business unit objectives
  • Report and present project status to senior leadership on a periodic basis
  • Develop and enforce usage of key project management tools and processes within both CDO team and company organization stakeholders
  • Manage a dynamic and wide range of project types simultaneously, across different business areas and teams
  • Experience in managing projects utilizing both Waterfall and Agile methodologies preferred.
  • Play an active role in building CDO project management capability through the mentoring and development of talent.
  • According to Agile implementation roadmap, work directly with CDO Agile Coach function to deliver agile-based project development practices within company organization

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering or related technical field required
  • At least two years Project Management experience through entire project life cycle, including execution of all phases (Initiating, Planning, Executing, Controlling, Closing). 
  • Six to ten years of experience working with the Technology, Consumer Electronics, or Automotive industry.
  • Capable and willing to travel internationally
  • Innovative and dynamic thinker, capable of succeeding in an Agile and fast moving project work environment
  • Capable of flexibly working on multiple projects of different types and across all divisions of the company.
  • Strong financial or commercial understanding of value creation and return on investment analysis
  • Strong presentation and reporting skills; computer proficient (MS Office).
