Our client in Syracuse, New York is seeking an Electronic Lab Technician.

Key Attractions: 
• Control and influence on multi-million dollar new product development projects for products used around the globe. 
• Oversee and participate in development of new test methods and equipment to automate test data collection to provide measurable productivity increases using applications such as LabView. 
• Provide results for both Advanced Engineering concepts and New Product Development projects. 
• Work with Certification Engineers and 3rd Party Approval Agencies from around the globe to test and certify products for use in hazardous environments. 
Principle Accountabilities: 
This position has responsibility to plan, conduct, and provide analysis of electrical and/or mechanical laboratory test projects in accordance with established procedures. Position reports to the Laboratory Supervisor. Under general supervision, the incumbent will work with Engineering Department personnel to assist in the development, preparation, measurement, and data collection as necessary. 

Basic Qualifications: 
• Associate’s degree from an accredited institution 
• 2 years of experience in electronic/mechanical testing

• Strong communication and presentation skills 
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and documentation 

Preferred Qualifications: 
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering 
• Knowledge of the principles of electrical and/or mechanical engineering and drafting practices and procedures 
• Familiarity with characteristics of materials, inspection and test methods 
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude for constructing and preparing test samples in accordance with standard procedures 
• Experience with Lab View based equipment 
• Knowledge of Third Party standards (UL, NEC, CSA, ATEX)
