QA Engineer. We have a contract need for a QA Engineer to work with our Columbus, Ohio client on creating reusable, extendable and sustainable automation suite by influencing 'design for testing' strategies for Agile teams. The role will establish and manage traceability of requirements through test plans and cases, document and evaluate test results as well as collaborate in troubleshooting issues.


  • Act as a catalyst for change and consistently seeks challenges and seizes opportunities for improvement in performance and quality
  • Creates and promotes appropriate standards and ensures adherence to quality procedures across the organization
  • Escalates issues to Program Leadership and Quality Assurance Manager as needed in a clear, concise and timely manner and consistently identifies and suggests solutions to issues
  • Participates in requirement and design review meetings to stay informed of potential impact to testing
  • Participate in executing QA road maps and strategies
  • Assist Business and Development teams by communicating applicable testing practices and expectations
  • Create data sets to be used in test automation activities
  • Enhance, extend and maintain test automation libraries and frameworks
  • Maintain and expand our master regression test suite
  • Participate in continuous integration, release and build management
  • Must be goal oriented and have a proven record of being a team player and being proactive in work performance striving for continuous improvement


  • BA/BS in computer science or equivalent experience in Information Technology field.
  • Strong technical background, 5+ years related to Quality Assurance or related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proficiency using the Atlassian product suite: JIRA and Confluence
  • Familiarity with XML technologies, including XQuery language a plus
  • Experience developing detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans, test cases and automated test scripts using Ruby, Gherkin, and Cucumber within an Enterprise environment
  • Working knowledge and practical exposure to Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and agile/scrum development practices with sprint and release cycles following Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD) practices
  • Ability to identify and describe acceptance criteria for application features and apply the criteria to test cases
  • Knowledge of Unit, Integration, black box, performance, End-to-End, regression and User Acceptance testing approaches and appropriate application of each
  • Ability to estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
  • Experience with risk-based testing approaches is a plus
  • Java development experience a plus
