Our client in Plano, TX has an immediate need for a contract Application Engineer.


The Plan to Procure (PTP) Application Engineer position will be focused on implementation and support activities for North America’s SAP PTP initiatives. The position requires in-depth knowledge of the PTP business process and supporting SAP PTP functions including materials management, contracts, sourcing and purchase order processing.   

The SAP PTP role will interact with functional process owners in order to identify, define, document and configure process solutions in SAP.  The ability to work in a fast paced team atmosphere effectively is critical.


Leads and works across multiple business functions to define and gain consensus on end to end solutionsPerform all tasks in the development cycle:business process definition configuration and unit testing assistance and follow-up with user testing coordination of transports to Production training and post-live support and fixes. Maintains documentation of solution throughout the project lifecycle

Provide application functional support and implementation of SAP PTP functions

Position Requirements:

  • Extensive functional and technical (analysis and design of business applications) experience with SAP MM module and integration with FI/CO modules and the supply chain.
  • End user or support experience with Ariba PTP modules
  • Thorough understanding of business process interrelationships between SAP modules
  • Thorough understanding of integrating SAP PTP functions and related non-SAP applications
  • Thorough understanding of SAP PTP application security
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in SAP with experience in a functional advisory role with at least 2 implementations
  • 5 or more years of progressive, broad-based IT experience successfully implementing complex IT applications and / or developing efficient effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems
  • 5 or more years of demonstrated functional work experience in the related area/s
  • High-level communication skills to influence and persuade others
  • Ability to simply present concepts and recommendations to others
  • Project Management experience including the ability to identify project milestones and associated tasks
  • Knowledge and experience with ERP business intelligence, warehousing and/or related programming is a plus
  • Excellence in interacting with business and IT teams in diverse cultures
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Must Haves:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, related discipline, or equivalent work experience


MBA with a concentration in an IT related area a plusPMP certification a plusAgile development process and/or training is a plus
