Senior DevOps Engineer - REMOTE.  Our Columbus, Ohio client needs a Senior DevOps Engineer contractor who can work remote as a generalist with a passion for large-scale distributed systems and is capable of working in every part of our client's system. Should have minimum of 5+ years of working experience in IT and preferably 3+ years in DevOps/Config management role.

Technical: (Minimum of 3 - 5 years)

  • Automation experience with at least one configuration management system such as Chef, Ansible or other such tools
  • Strong Linux and Systems administration skills, experience with IT Security practices
  • Experience automating and orchestrating workloads on Public Clouds, preferably AWS - Cloudformation or Terraform
  • Experience working at least one of the following languages: Python, Ruby, or Go
  • Proficient with git and git workflows
  • Proficient in leveraging CI and CD tools (Jenkins, TeamCity, Spinnaker) to automate testing and deployments
  • Working experience with DotNet and Java apps build, deployment process
  • Experience in building distributed, highly available applications or systems architectures
  • Experience working in an Agile, fast paced, DevOps environment
  • Experience with partner integrations - tls certificates, mutual authentication, sso, saml
  • Experience in the configuration, management, and troubleshooting of common web servers such as: Nginx, IIS, Tomcat
  • A working understanding of networking, Load balancers, firewalls, DNS and Load balancing methodologies
  • Experience with monitoring and log tools - Dynatrace or NewRelic, ElasticSearch/Kibana

Qualifications: (Minimum of 5 years)

  • Experience working to deadlines in high-pressure project environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate technical issues to nontechnical and technical audiences
  • Write and maintain documentation and materials for internal audiences
  • Can present concepts in authoritative and clear manner through white boarding, presentations and proposals
  • Creative problem solver, will own issues until full resolution
  • Effective with time management and expected deliverables
  • Actively contribute to Best Practices, toolkit and methodologies within area of expertise
  • Continued awareness of evolving technologies and implications for improvements
