User Experience Designer. Our Columbus, Ohio client's digital marketing team for pharmaceutical distribution is looking for a mid to senior level contract-to-hire User Experience Designer. As a UX designer on this team, you’ll be a key part of the design and development of user interfaces, wireframes and workflow design. The results of your work will lead to improved user experiences for pharmacy ordering systems. 

Essential Functions:

  • Support the Sr. Manager of User Experience for Pharma focusing primarily on mobile app design but will be involved in all aspects of the digital eCommerce design and development efforts. 
  • Mobile app support may require working hours outside normal US business hours as the majority of the team is in India
  • This resource will need to use a Mac computer
  • Interaction Design – translate and simplify complex ordering system requirements, workflows and interactions into usable, useful, desirable and intuitive wireframes and mockups
  • Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces
  • Participate in design intake, planning, execution, and delivery initiatives for the Design team
  • User research – understand what it takes to meet the needs of users in a variety of segments and user roles for various tools and systems. Work with UX research teams to gain user insights that then inform design
  • Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs
  • Participate in usability studies on site at pharmacies, hospitals and/or trade shows
  • Participate in user research with stakeholders, users and business partners
  • Collaborate with client services, digital operations, product owners, web analytics and development partners throughout the design and deliver phases
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for user research and usability testing to inform prototypes and concepts
  • Utilize analytics and identify opportunities for UX Design improvements while taking into consideration broader brand and company business strategy
  • Work cross-functionally to develop, measure, and optimize user experience
  • Evolve design methods, tools, and process in collaboration with designers and cross-functional teams

Qualifications:

This job is ideal for someone with excellent application design skills and experience (preferably in web applications or rich internet application environments) who understands how to simplify navigation in complex web applications and enhance the overall user experience. We are looking for capability around managing complexity, creativity, and passion for user advocacy in the healthcare space.

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Interaction Design or User Experience design
  • Required knowledge of Axure RP (preferred) and/or equivalent prototyping tools, Sketch, Zeplin, and portfolio of work required
  • Degree in design, human computer interaction, psychology, visual communication, cognitive science, or related field 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of building prototypes using Axure primarily or other robust prototyping tools
  • Demonstrated expertise in using Sketch visual design tool and Zeplin for output
  • Experience designing responsive web applications and mobile apps (iOS and Android) environments, native and custom (understands the difference)
  • Experience designing interactive web marketing output such as banners and email
  • A portfolio of projects demonstrating innovative designs for workflow type applications, including before and after stories showing clearly added value
  • Experience conducting usability tests or end-user interaction studies
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in order to get concepts, constructs, and standards communicated to people less familiar with user experience design is required
  • Experience using A-B testing results, analytics and user feedback to guide design and continuous optimization 
  • Understanding of Agile development environment and Lean UX practices helpful
  • Familiarity with WCAG 2.1 Accessibility Requirements
  • Familiarity with HTML5 / CSS3other front-end technologies a plus
